About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in calibration equipment engineering within a semiconductor manufacturing environment. You will work on-site in Leominster, Massachusetts, supporting the maintenance and performance of backend equipment. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Perform, track, and troubleshoot complex calibration procedures for backend semiconductor equipment.
- Inspect and repair calibration fixtures and support equipment to ensure they are ready for use.
- Log calibration results and maintain accurate traceability records.
- Support data analysis to verify equipment performance trends.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and reduce downtime.
- Promote lab safety by following protocols, participating in reviews, and supporting corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute calibration projects.
What you'll need#
- Current progress toward a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science (2 to 3 years completed).
- Intent to complete your degree.
- Experience or coursework using metrology tools like micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Familiarity with basic lab instrumentation and data logging tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or equivalent software for tracking and analysis.
- Ability to use hand tools and follow written equipment procedures.
- Basic debugging and root-cause reasoning skills.
- Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.
- US citizenship or permanent residency is required due to export control requirements.
