About the role#
This internship is part of the Technology Sales program. You will work in a hybrid, center-based environment to help organizations evaluate and adopt IBM solutions. The role focuses on building a foundation in technology sales and client leadership by combining digital selling, technical expertise, and AI-driven tools. You will work alongside a team of experienced professionals to advance client opportunities and drive business growth.
What you'll do#
- Create demand and identify new opportunities within assigned territories and product portfolios using outbound, inbound, and digital engagement.
- Engage and qualify prospective customers through phone, email, social media, video outreach, and virtual events.
- Manage an active pipeline by progressing opportunities through the sales cycle, uncovering expansion potential, and supporting renewals or upgrades.
- Participate in discovery conversations to understand customer business objectives, technical needs, and buying criteria.
- Deliver virtual technical demonstrations and solution overviews that connect IBM capabilities to client outcomes.
- Act as a trusted sales advisor by maintaining product knowledge and communicating value propositions.
- Collaborate with technical specialists, account executives, marketing, and ecosystem teams to support deal execution.
- Use AI-enabled sales tools, market intelligence, and social selling techniques to improve engagement strategies.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Communications, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business Technology, or a related field.
- A strong interest in technology, consultative sales, and solving client business challenges.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Analytical thinking, curiosity, adaptability, and a customer-focused mindset.
- A desire to learn about IBM technologies, industry trends, and AI-powered sales tools.
- Leadership experience gained through student organizations, athletics, volunteer work, or community involvement.
