About the role#
As a QA/Test Developer Intern in Systems Assurance, you will work on the hardware and software that power IBM systems. You will contribute to the design, testing, and support of technologies including IBM zSystems, Power Systems, Storage, and Quantum Systems. This is a full-time, paid internship with a hybrid work arrangement.
What you'll do#
- Install and test hardware systems hands-on.
- Validate and characterize processors and systems.
- Design and test firmware architectures.
- Install, configure, and validate AI Large Language Models.
- Automate test suites and simulate customer environments.
- Analyze failures to improve system reliability.
- Develop and document test plans and procedures.
- Support customers and field engineers with technical solutions.
- Contribute to internal and external code repositories.
- Collaborate with global development teams.
What you'll need#
- Familiarity with one or more programming languages such as C++, C, Java, Ruby, Python, Perl, or SQL.
- Experience with application development and databases.
- Ability to design scalable APIs, servers, services, and applications.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Strong skills in communication, design, problem solving, and testing.
- Knowledge of quality technologies, testing standards, and defect analysis tools.
- Exposure to exploratory testing and test automation, including unit, integration, and functional tests.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
