About the role#
As an AI-First Transformation Intern, you will join the team responsible for architecting IBM’s enterprise-wide transformation. You will work alongside product strategists, data experts, and senior stakeholders to design workflows and operating models that power the next generation of the company. This role operates within one of the most strategic transformation engines at IBM, focusing on scaling AI solutions to drive business value.
What you'll do#
- Conduct deep workflow assessments across Finance, HR, Procurement, Operations, and Sales.
- Apply zero-based design to create AI-native workflows and identify opportunities for automation, GenAI, and agentic systems.
- Define future-state operating models and transformation playbooks.
- Evaluate prototypes and tools while leading experiments to test feasibility and scalability.
- Support the design of MVPs and contribute to readiness assessments.
- Integrate business needs with data and platform capabilities to create technology enablement plans.
- Develop multi-quarter transformation roadmaps and engage with AI governance and risk mechanisms.
- Build financial models and value hypotheses for high-impact AI deployments.
- Track KPIs and create tooling to monitor impact and adoption.
- Prepare executive-caliber materials and collaborate with leaders across business units.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an MBA or graduate program, such as a master’s degree in Finance or Economics.
- Experience in strategy, transformation, operations, technology, product development, or analytics.
- Background in finance, value creation, operating model design, AI, or automation.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and design from first principles.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide structure and executive-level precision.
- Understanding of how systems, people, and technology interact.
- High ownership, intellectual curiosity, and a bias for impact.
