About the role#
The Integrated Photonics Summer PhD Intern will participate in the technical development of integrated photonics products. This role focuses on measuring and testing products at the chip, module, and system levels, as well as advancing next-generation product development.
What you'll do#
- Perform optical and electrical testing of integrated photonic devices and systems.
- Improve test capabilities by building new test functionalities and setups.
- Optimize test protocols to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Drive research and development to improve optical, RF, and electro-optical performance.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data to validate device performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design and fabrication, to address performance challenges.
What you'll need#
- Current Ph.D. or Master student in a photonics-related field, such as Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong understanding of integrated photonics, silicon photonics, or related technologies.
- Proficiency in data analysis using tools such as Python, MATLAB, or equivalent.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work under time constraints and solve problems in ambiguous scenarios.
- Experience with electro-optical modulators, fiber alignment systems, free-space optics setups, or photonic device simulation tools (such as Lumerical or COMSOL) is a plus.
