About the role#
The Golf Operations Associate role provides hands-on experience in tournament operations. You will work under the supervision of Tournament Directors and staff to manage events from start to finish. This position involves extensive travel and requires a commitment to learning all aspects of tournament management, including course setup and business operations.
What you'll do#
- Provide customer service to players and their families.
- Handle tournament set-up and preparation tasks, such as marking golf courses and setting up scoreboards.
- Manage tee and hole locations along with utility set-up.
- Start and score players during events.
- Perform on-course rules officiating and manage pace of play.
- Participate in business operations training.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Business, Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- You must receive at least one credit from an accredited college or university for this internship.
- Good standing with your college or university.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Attention to detail and a goal-oriented mindset.
- Ability to multitask.
- Knowledge of golf is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time, unpaid internship for Winter 2027.
- The role is based in Columbia, South Carolina, but requires extensive travel to various states for tournament operations.
