About the role#
Huitt-Zollars is looking for a part-time Interior Design Intern to join our Dallas office. You will work with architects, interior designers, and project managers on interior projects throughout their lifecycle. This role is a chance to build your skills in project delivery and professional practice while assisting with both creative design and technical documentation.
What you'll do#
- Assist with design concepts, programming, space planning, and detailing.
- Create design studies, renderings, and graphic materials to communicate ideas.
- Prepare material finish boards, select furniture, and help with presentation materials.
- Update drawings and models in Revit under supervision.
- Help prepare specifications, meeting minutes, and agency applications.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with staff across architecture, interiors, and engineering.
- Support construction phase tasks, including logging submittals and RFIs.
- Visit project sites to assist with documentation and observations.
- Seek feedback and engage in learning opportunities to build your technical skills.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program or higher in Architecture, Interior Design, or Interior Architecture.
- Basic proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read redlines and update drawings and models accurately.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
- Experience with 3D visualization tools like Enscape, Lumion, or Photoshop is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and travel to project sites when needed.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

- Location: Dallas, Texas.
- Modality: On-site (minimum 20 hours per week; maximum 3 days per week).
