About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Spring, Texas. The role is designed for students pursuing a master’s degree who are interested in software product security. This position is intended for potential conversion to a full-time role, contingent on performance and headcount. HP does not provide immigration sponsorship for this position, including CPT or OPT, and candidates must not require future work authorization sponsorship.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and test software for enterprise device-security solutions.
- Build automation tools to improve engineering and testing workflows.
- Analyze telemetry data to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
- Support integrations with Azure, AWS, and other cloud services.
- Create proofs of concept for emerging customer security requirements.
- Troubleshoot software defects and perform root-cause analysis.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and Agile development.
- Collaborate across engineering, security, cloud, UX, and product teams.
- Document technical designs, test results, and recommendations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a master’s degree program in Computer Science or a closely related field at an accredited university.
- No more than 24 months of prior professional work experience related to this role.
- Ability to obtain work authorization in the United States in 2027.
- Programming experience in Python, C#, Java, Go, or TypeScript.
- Understanding of software development and testing principles.
- Familiarity with data analysis and software automation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work within an Agile engineering environment.
- Familiarity with Azure or AWS cloud platforms, cybersecurity, or enterprise device management is preferred.
- Experience with APIs, cloud-service integration, telemetry systems, AI-assisted development, or UX/UI principles is a plus.

- Compensation: $35 to $40 per hour, depending on location, skills, and experience.
