About the role#
As an Insurance Sales Intern at Hotchkiss Insurance, you will gain hands-on experience supporting our sales team. You will work on developing client relationships, generating leads, and promoting insurance products. This role provides a comprehensive introduction to the insurance industry by blending sales training with exposure to client service operations. You will work closely with both sales and service teams to understand the customer lifecycle from initial contact to policy support.
What you'll do#
- Shadow sales agents and attend client meetings or calls.
- Research industry trends, target industries, and competitors to support our strategies.
- Help process claims and learn the claims lifecycle from filing to resolution.
- Use agency management software to update records and generate reports.
- Learn and apply compliance requirements to ensure accurate documentation.
- Contribute to marketing projects, including promotional materials and client newsletters.
- Support account managers with renewals, endorsements, and client communications.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Business, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Interest in commercial insurance, risk assessment, or financial services.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in technology.

- Modality: On-site in Houston or Carrollton, Texas.
- Schedule: Full-time.
- Compensation: $21 per hour.
