About the role#
As an Insurance Sales Intern at Hotchkiss Insurance, you will gain hands-on experience supporting our sales team. This role introduces you to the insurance industry by blending sales training with client service operations. You will work closely with sales and service teams to understand the customer lifecycle, from initial contact to policy support. This internship is designed for those interested in a career in insurance sales.
What you'll do#
- Shadow sales agents and attend client meetings or calls.
- Research industry trends, target industries, and competitors.
- Process claims and learn the lifecycle from filing to resolution.
- Use agency management software to update records and generate reports.
- Learn and apply compliance requirements to ensure accurate documentation.
- Contribute to marketing projects like creating promotional materials or drafting newsletters.
- Support account managers with renewals, endorsements, and client communications.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program for Business, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field.
- An interest in commercial insurance, risk assessment, or financial services.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in technology.

- Term: Summer 2027 (June 1, 2027 to July 30, 2027).
- Location: On-site in Houston, Texas or Carrollton, Texas.
- Schedule: Full-time.
- Compensation: $21 per hour.
