Co-op Engineer: Structures - Fall/Winter 2026-2027

About the role#

HNTB is seeking Co-op Engineers to join the Structures/Bridges group in Philadelphia for the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 terms. This full-time, paid position involves supporting engineering teams with project research, design, and documentation. You will gain experience in areas such as structural design calculations, bridge inspection, CAD design, and construction inspection.

What you'll do#

• Assist engineering teams with daily tasks and project duties.
• Support the research, development, and design phases of projects.
• Prepare engineering drawings and project documents.
• Perform basic engineering calculations.
• Organize information for use in technical documents and drawings.
• Gain an understanding of shop drawing and submittal procedures.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary Civil Engineering program.
• Completion of at least two years of a Civil Engineering program is preferred.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Foundational knowledge of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation is preferred.
• Ability to accept and apply direction from peers and supervisors.
• A strong interest in transportation and infrastructure.
