About the role#
This is an unpaid internship through the DoD SkillBridge Program, designed specifically for transitioning active-duty military personnel. You will train as a Software Engineer within the Mission Technologies division of HII. This role focuses on gaining practical experience in hardware and software analysis within a cleared environment. You will work closely with a mentor and senior leadership to build technical skills that support national security missions.
What you'll do#
- Train on fundamental software engineering principles and reverse engineering techniques.
- Contribute to live projects involving microelectronics trust and assurance.
- Gain hands-on experience with object-oriented programming in C++ and Python.
- Learn to use FPGA design software and hardware description languages.
- Develop test suites to validate code functionality and document your discoveries.
- Participate in code reviews and learn collaborative development workflows.
What you'll need#
- You must be active-duty military within your final 180 days of service.
- You must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- You must have the ability to obtain a US DoD issued security clearance.
