About the role#
This position is for a Surgical Technologist Extern. You will work under the supervision of a Surgical Technologist to perform prescribed technical procedures. This is a paid, part-time role based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
What you'll do#
- Perform technical procedures based on your documented level of competency.
- Follow safety protocols for aseptic technique, sharps handling, and instrument management.
- Manage specimen collection and processing.
- Communicate patient data accurately to the surgical team.
- Organize and prioritize patient care tasks using time management skills.
- Take responsibility for your own professional development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Certified Surgical Technologist program.
- You must be in good standing within a CAAHEP-accredited program.
