About the role#
This Surgical Technologist Extern position provides an opportunity to perform prescribed procedures under the supervision of a Surgical Technologist. You will gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting while working within the Allegheny Health Network. This is a part-time, paid role with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Perform surgical technologist procedures under direct supervision.
- Demonstrate clinical competency in areas such as aseptic technique, sharps safety, instrument management, and specimen management.
- Communicate relevant patient data to the care team.
- Organize and prioritize patient care tasks using time management skills.
- Take initiative in your own professional development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Certified Surgical Technologist program.
- Good standing within a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technologist program.

- This role is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
- The position requires on-site attendance.
