About the role#
The Cardiac Cath Technologist Intern performs radiographic imaging procedures and assists providers in the catheterization lab. This role operates at a technical level under the direct supervision of a technologist, requiring the application of independent judgment and initiative while maintaining high standards of patient care and data security.
What you'll do#
- Prepare for and assist physicians during catheterization lab procedures by applying knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular physiology, pathophysiology, and procedural techniques.
- Operate and troubleshoot technical equipment in collaboration with a preceptor, contacting support personnel when necessary.
- Monitor procedural activities to identify and respond to adverse patient reactions or conditions.
- Complete all required documentation for procedures, including the storage and archival of medical images.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- High School diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment and good standing in a radiology technologist program.
- Valid CPR certification.
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance.
