About the role#
The Cardiac Cath Technologist Intern performs radiographic imaging procedures and assists providers during catheterization lab procedures. This role operates at a technical level under the direct supervision of a technologist and requires the use of independent judgment and initiative to complete technical tasks.
What you'll do#
- Prepare for and assist physicians in catheterization lab procedures by applying knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular physiology, pathophysiology, and procedural techniques.
- Operate and troubleshoot equipment in collaboration with a preceptor and contact support personnel when necessary.
- Monitor the effects of procedural activities by identifying adverse reactions or conditions and responding appropriately.
- Complete required documentation for procedures, including image storage and archival.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- High School diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in good standing in a radiology technologist program.
- Valid CPR certification.
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance.
