Cardiac Cath Technologist Intern

About the role#

This internship provides an opportunity to perform prescribed radiographic imaging procedures and assist providers during catheterization lab procedures. Working under the direct supervision of a technologist, interns gain experience in technical procedures while exercising independent judgment and initiative.

What you'll do#

• Prepare for and assist physicians in catheterization lab procedures by applying knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular physiology, pathophysiology, and procedural techniques.
• Operate and troubleshoot equipment in collaboration with a preceptor, contacting support personnel when necessary.
• Monitor the effects of procedural activities, identify adverse reactions or conditions, and respond appropriately.
• Complete all required procedure documentation, including image storage and archival.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll need#

• High School diploma or GED.
• Current enrollment and good standing in a radiology technologist program.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance.
