High Tech High is seeking 3-5 School-based Mental Health Interns to provide counseling support across our school network. This position offers the opportunity to gain clinical experience under the guidance of a licensed supervisor, who will provide at least one hour of individual or two hours of group supervision weekly.
What you'll do#
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling to support students in overcoming behavioral and emotional challenges.
- Develop and implement clinical treatment plans and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Participate in IEP and 504 meetings to contribute to student planning and goal setting.
- Act as a student advocate to coordinate services and resolve crisis situations.
- Refer students and families to community resources and specialists as needed.
- Maintain accurate treatment records and reports while ensuring student confidentiality.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to support student progress.
What you'll need#
- Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Clinical Counseling, or Marriage and Family Counseling.
- Valid California license as an Associate Social Worker (ASW) or Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT).
- Experience working with at-risk or special education students.
- Experience in a California school district or educational setting is preferred.
- California Pupil Personnel Services credential is desired.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Location & details#
- Location: California (On-site at High Tech High campuses).
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Commitment: Part-time, 25-30 hours per week.
- Compensation: Paid hourly position.
