About the role#
As a Copywriter Intern at Hiebing, you will join our Create team to turn insights into ideas. You will partner with art directors and other writers to connect brands with people. This role involves contributing to real client work, from initial brainstorms to final copy. You will build your skills and portfolio while working on diverse projects.
What you'll do#
- Develop creative concepts with art directors and other team members.
- Write and refine copy across various channels, adapting your approach to fit specific brand voices and objectives.
- Bring multiple ideas to the table and build on the ideas of others.
- Use feedback to improve your thinking and execution.
- Explore AI tools for research and brainstorming while applying your own judgment and craft to the final work.
- Follow agency guidance on AI use, including checking for accuracy and bias.
- Manage your assignments, communicate your progress, and meet deadlines.
What you'll need#
- A portfolio demonstrating your writing ability, conceptual thinking, and creative potential.
- Strong grammar, spelling, and editing skills.
- A knack for clear, concise writing.
- The ability to adapt your tone and style for different brands and audiences.
- Curiosity about people, culture, brands, and emerging creative tools.
- A collaborative approach and openness to giving and receiving feedback.
- Initiative, attention to detail, and a willingness to ask questions.
Location & details#
- Locations: Madison, Wisconsin or Austin, Texas. You must be based in one of these states and able to work from the office.
- Term: Fall 2026 through May 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Modality: Hybrid, with in-office collaboration Monday through Wednesday and remote flexibility Thursday and Friday.
- Compensation: $15 per hour.
- Requirements: You must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
