About the role#
This summer internship provides an opportunity to support the Food & Beverage department at Adventureland Park. You will work alongside department heads to oversee operations, manage multi-million dollar sales revenue, and lead a large team of hosts. This role is designed to build your leadership, communication, and management skills through hands-on experience in an amusement park setting.
What you'll do#
- Supervise team members, including hiring, orientation, training, and performance coaching.
- Assist with daily scheduling, timekeeping, and tip allocation.
- Perform essential duties across all F&B positions to support operations during peak times.
- Complete daily documentation such as checklists, logs, and host records.
- Lead special projects to improve operational and process efficiencies.
- Assist with Point-of-Sale maintenance, database programming, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with Labor Department regulations and food safety standards.
- Participate in weekly planning meetings and assist with special event setups.
- Act as a mentor and coach to team members while representing company values.
What you'll need#
- Recent graduate or at least 2 years of undergraduate study in Supply Chain, Hospitality, Business Management, Event Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of previous work experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Capacity to stand, walk, and remain on your feet for most of the workday.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects weighing 30 pounds or more.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and coordinate multiple priorities.
- Previous theme park or waterpark experience is preferred.
- Practical knowledge of POS technology and PCI compliance is preferred.
