About the role#
As a Health and Security Intern, you will support our team in maintaining a safe and efficient workplace. This role offers the opportunity to work in a technically complex environment, collaborating with various departments to improve health, safety, and environmental practices. You will be based at our Longueuil facility.
What you'll do#
- Participate in accident investigations and the accident analysis process.
- Conduct plant walkthroughs and factory tours to verify compliance with HSE procedures.
- Evaluate workstations and suggest improvements.
- Update HSE KPI data and safety data sheets.
- Prepare Health and Safety Committee (HSC) reports and participate in committee meetings.
- Work with maintenance, HR/OHS partners, and production teams to follow up on corrective actions.
- Provide induction training to new employees and deliver HSE training.
- Create and monitor HSE alerts.
- Assist with the respiratory protection program and preventive maintenance execution.
- Participate in intervention team meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university program for Human Resources, Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Completion of at least two years of your undergraduate degree.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work with autonomy.
- A resourceful approach to solving complex problems.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with managers, supervisors, technical staff, contractors, and unionized employees.
- Proficiency in English to communicate with international suppliers, clients, and auditors.
- Strong teamwork skills.
