As a Propulsion Engineer Intern, you will contribute to the design, development, and testing of propulsion components and systems. You will work alongside engineers, manufacturing teams, and vendors to transition hardware from initial concepts through to final testing.
What you'll do#
- Support the design and development of propulsion components and systems, spanning from conceptual design to detailed mechanical design.
- Create and release engineering drawings, collaborating with internal manufacturing teams and external vendors to produce hardware.
- Assist in defining, configuring, and setting up propulsion test rigs.
- Support the execution and documentation of propulsion hardware testing and development activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a STEM program at an accredited college or university, specifically as an undergraduate in your third or fourth year, or as a Master's or Ph.D. student.
- Practical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles through internships, academic studies, or projects.
- A strong understanding of engineering first principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Strong interest in propulsion systems, design, and testing.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Enthusiasm for aviation and the company mission.
- Must be a U.S. person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
Location & details#
- Location: Los Angeles, California.
- Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: Full-time.
- Terms: Summer 2026 (approximately 10 weeks, May–August) or Fall 2026 (approximately 16 weeks, September–December).
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
