Hermeus is seeking a hands-on Mission Systems Platform Intern to support our Mission Systems Engineering team. This role sits at the intersection of IT infrastructure, flight systems, and real-world operations. You will work across hardware, software, networking, and physical systems to support ground control stations, custom hardware setups, and test environments.
What you'll do#
- Support the build, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Ground Control Stations and mission systems infrastructure.
- Assist with the installation and configuration of flight-critical IT systems, networking equipment, and communication tools.
- Set up and maintain pilot-in-the-loop cockpits and test rigs, including simulation and hardware-in-the-loop systems.
- Contribute to network setup and troubleshooting, including Ethernet, fiber, routers, switches, and VPNs.
- Assist with hardware builds such as servers, workstations, racks, cabling, and electronics packaging.
- Perform basic electronics work including connectors, wiring, low-voltage systems, and cable routing.
- Monitor system performance, reliability, and uptime across deployed systems.
- Contribute to technical documentation, including configurations, diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, test, and operations teams, including support for on-site testing or deployments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
- Hands-on experience with hardware, such as PC builds, wiring, and electronics.
- Exposure to basic networking concepts like IP, routing, and switching.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Ability to lift equipment weighing approximately 50 lbs and work in physical environments such as labs and test sites.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Eligibility for U.S. export control compliance.

- Location: Atlanta, Georgia.
- Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: Full-time.
- Terms: Summer 2026 (approx. 10 weeks) or Fall 2026 (approx. 16 weeks).
- Status: Paid internship.
