Hardware-In-the-Loop Software Engineering Intern - Fall 2026

About the role#

The Hardware-In-the-Loop Software Engineering Intern will support the setup, integration, and testing of real-time simulation environments. You will connect hardware components with software models to assist in the development of high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft.

What you'll do#

• Configure and maintain test benches for system evaluation.
• Develop and implement test and automation scripts.
• Debug signal and communication issues across various systems.
• Assist in validating vehicle and flight deck control systems.
• Document test results and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to enhance system reliability and performance.

What you'll need#

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in Julia or strong experience with scientific computing languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C++.
• Experience with hardware integrations and embedded computers, such as Raspberry PIs, Arduinos, or STM32s.
• Strong understanding of engineering first principles.
• Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Enthusiasm for aviation.

• Location: Atlanta, Georgia.
• Term: Fall 2026 (September – December, approximately 16 weeks).
• Modality: On-site.
• Employment Status: Paid, full-time internship.
• Export Control: This role requires access to information subject to U.S. export controls. Candidates must be a U.S. person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
