About the role#
This internship is a 10 to 12 week development program designed to build your knowledge of the hospitality industry. You will immerse yourself in the Housekeeping discipline by working alongside the leadership team and associates who manage daily operations. The program aims to provide a foundation for a long-term career in the field.
What you'll do#
- Shadow leaders and staff across all shifts and positions within the Housekeeping department.
- Attend department and leadership meetings.
- Learn to operate the Property Management System and other department software.
- Use labor management tools to help schedule and control costs.
- Interact with customers to ensure satisfaction and resolve issues.
- Ensure the department follows Room Standard Operating Procedures and policies.
- Comply with attendance rules and perform other assigned duties.
What you'll need#
- Recent or current graduate of a hospitality program is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and the public.
- Skill in adapting your communication style for different audiences.
- Ability to manage interactions with customers, including resolving conflicts with patience and tact.
- Physical ability to push or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
