Design Consultant Intern

About the role#

The Design Consultant Intern program provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in the In-Home Design (IHD) process. Over the course of this 12-week internship, you will work alongside Store Managers and Interior Designers to learn how to serve customers and understand the company product line.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with the Store Manager and Interior Designer to observe and participate in real-life design situations.
• Convert measured rooms into precise and detailed floor plans.
• Utilize the 'Loft' software to create 2D and 3D designs with pre-set rooms.
• Review the HD Presentation process, including selecting products and preparing for client presentations.
• Manage client profiles by uploading photos and creating design rooms.
• Look up furniture availability and process special orders for customer requests.
• Present design plans to the management team and receive feedback on performance.

What you'll need#

• An interior design degree from an accredited college or university, or relevant experience and training.
• Proficiency with computers and email, with a preference for experience using Office 365.
• Strong ability to operate tablets and iPads.
• Familiarity with a broad range of furniture styles and products is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on building relationships.
• Highly organized approach to maintaining a responsive schedule.
