About the role#
This internship provides practical experience in the In Home Design process at Havertys Furniture. Participants work alongside store managers and interior designers to learn the end-to-end cycle of room creation, from initial measurements to final client presentations. This is a paid, full-time opportunity scheduled for Summer 2026.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with store managers and interior designers to support client projects.
- Convert measured rooms into precise, detailed room plans.
- Use the Loft software to create designs using pre-set room templates.
- Review and participate in the HD presentation process.
- Upload project photos to client profiles and build design rooms.
- Research furniture availability and assist with special orders.
- Prepare for measured visits by selecting products and developing 2D and 3D models.
- Set up presentation areas and deliver design plans for feedback.
What you'll need#
- An interior design degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent relevant experience and training.
- Proficiency with computers and email, with a preference for experience in Office 365.
- Strong ability to operate tablets or iPads.
- Familiarity with a broad range of furniture styles and products is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain an organized and responsive schedule.
- Majors in Architecture, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Business Administration, or Communications are encouraged to apply.
