About the role#
Haleon is hiring Packaging Co-ops to join our teams in Warren, New Jersey, starting in January 2027. You will support either our R&D Packaging Team or our Technical Packaging Team. The R&D team focuses on innovation, sustainability, and new packaging formats. The Technical team supports existing commercial products, manufacturing operations, and material qualifications. You will work on meaningful projects, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and receive mentorship from experienced professionals.
What you'll do#
- Support packaging development, sustainability, and continuous improvement projects.
- Evaluate packaging materials, technologies, and formats for new and existing products.
- Assist with packaging testing, line trials, prototyping, and data analysis.
- Research opportunities related to sustainability, cost savings, and value engineering.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing, and external suppliers.
- Contribute to technical documentation, specifications, and project updates.
- Manage portions of project work with guidance from team members.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Packaging Science, Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Polymer Chemistry, Industrial Design, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and learn in a dynamic environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Interest in packaging development, sustainability, materials, product design, engineering, or manufacturing.
- Experience using CAD, 3D design tools, or other technical software.
- Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and willingness to take ownership of projects.
- Experience working on design, engineering, research, or technical team projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Location & details#
- Location: Warren, New Jersey.
- Term: Winter 2027 (6-month duration).
- Work Modality: Hybrid (requires 3 days per week in-office).
- Employment: Full-time (40 hours per week, Monday-Friday).
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
