About the role#
The Loads and Dynamics team manages static loads, dynamic loads, and flutter analysis for aircraft. As an intern, you will work alongside senior engineers to solve technical challenges in structural dynamics and aeroelasticity. This is a paid, full-time position based on-site in Savannah, Georgia.
What you'll do#
- Perform static and dynamic ground and landing gear loads analyses.
- Generate and analyze aircraft structural dynamic responses and load distributions for gust conditions.
- Perform aircraft flutter analysis for nominal, parametric, failure, and repair scenarios.
- Assess aircraft repairs and modifications for flutter impacts.
- Develop new tools and methods for loads analyses.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited bachelor's degree program or higher in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Completion of your sophomore year prior to the start date.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, which must be listed on your resume.
- Full-time student status.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Reliable transportation.
- Preferred: Enrollment in a graduate program focused on structural dynamics or aeroelasticity.
- Preferred: Experience with MATLAB, Finite Element Analysis, or Computational Fluid Dynamics.
- Preferred: Coursework in aerodynamics, structures, and aeroelasticity.
