About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will join a product engineering team for a 12-week program. You will own a scoped project that addresses a real client, provider, or business need. You will work alongside a dedicated mentor and engineering manager to receive regular guidance and feedback. This is a full-time, paid internship where you will contribute to production code and ship solutions that impact mental health care access.
What you'll do#
- Own a meaningful project that goes into production and improves the user experience.
- Participate in planning, stand-ups, code reviews, demos, and retrospectives.
- Investigate bugs, evaluate tradeoffs, and use data to improve solutions.
- Communicate progress, risks, and decisions throughout the project.
- Present your technical approach and project impact at the end of the program.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date of Fall 2027 or Spring 2028.
- Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language.
- Comfort using AI-assisted development tools to generate, debug, and verify code.
- Practical experience through projects, research, hackathons, open-source contributions, student organizations, or previous internships.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York.
- Modality: Hybrid, with an expectation to work onsite 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 1 to August 20).
- Compensation: $50 per hour.
- Additional support: $5,000 housing stipend and $25 per day meal credit for onsite days.
