About the role#
Groundwork Collaborative is seeking a Communications Intern for the Fall 2026 term, running from September through December. This paid, part-time position offers hands-on experience within a team focused on progressive economic policy, research, and advocacy. The role is designed to support the communications department in driving narrative change and influencing national economic policy debates.
What you'll do#
- Conduct background research on relevant economic issue areas.
- Assist with the preparation and dissemination of press releases and other external materials.
- Provide administrative support to the communications team.
- Attend events and maintain catalogs of team materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support team goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a two- or four-year university studying communications, journalism, political science, economics, or a related field.
- Strong writing skills with experience producing content for various audiences.
- Exceptional attention to detail in editing and proofreading.
- A commitment to a just, inclusive, and resilient economy.
- Experience drafting social media content is considered a plus.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Washington, District of Columbia.
- This is a hybrid role requiring in-office attendance on Mondays and Wednesdays, with the potential for occasional in-person work for events and special projects.
- Candidates must reside in DC, Virginia, or Maryland to be eligible for the role.
- The compensation for this position is $22 per hour.
