About the role#
As a Property Accounting Intern, you will gain hands-on experience with the daily responsibilities of an accountant at Greystar. You will manage full-cycle accounting tasks for a specific set of properties and learn how the team functions within the broader real estate business. This is a full-time, paid summer internship running from June 2, 2027, to August 6, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Manage full-cycle accounting tasks for a set number of properties.
- Review financial statements and prepare journal entries.
- Handle bank reconciliations and perform accounting control procedures.
- Assist in monitoring and analyzing monthly operating results and financial reports.
- Support the annual budgeting process by gathering and organizing financial data.
- Complete in-house training programs for various applications and operational techniques.
- Collaborate with different teams to provide financial insights and support.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Accounting, Finance, or related degree program with a graduation date between December 2026 and May 2027.
- A quantitative background that demonstrates analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
