About the role#
As an Engineering Intern at Gresham Smith, you will work alongside experienced engineers to gain hands-on exposure to the design and delivery of real-world projects. This role allows you to apply your classroom knowledge to technical tasks while learning how multidisciplinary teams collaborate. This is a paid, full-time internship with sponsorship available for eligible students.
What you'll do#
- Assist with drawings, calculations, and project documentation.
- Support design tasks using software such as Revit, Civil 3D, or MicroStation.
- Conduct research, gather data, and help prepare reports and cost estimates.
- Participate in site visits to observe conditions and construction progress.
- Collaborate with team members to learn about the project delivery process.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, Industrial, or related engineering fields.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Exposure to engineering or design software is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team with curiosity and initiative.
- Effective time management, task prioritization, and professional organization.
- Students who hold F-1, OPT, or H1-B visas are eligible for consideration.

- Locations: Alpharetta, GA; Dallas, TX; Knoxville, TN; Nashville, TN; Orlando, FL; Tampa, FL.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Term: Rolling.
- Compensation: $18.00 - $32.00 per hour based on discipline, school year, and experience.
