This internship provides hands-on experience in a 24/7 manufacturing facility, bridging the gap between classroom theory and the production floor. Interns work alongside veteran technicians to maintain state-of-the-art equipment, diagnose complex system issues, and gain exposure to industrial automation.
What you'll do#
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, repairs, and equipment checks.
- Assist in diagnosing breakdowns across electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and servo systems.
- Gain practical experience in running conduit, pulling wire, fabrication, and installing new control systems.
- Apply classroom knowledge to troubleshoot and program PLCs in a live environment.
- Participate in general facility maintenance and site support tasks.
- Learn hygiene and tool accountability standards required for food-grade paperboard packaging.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associate degree program for Electro-Mechanical Technology, Automation, or a related technical field.
- Familiarity with reading schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- A disciplined approach to safety, specifically regarding 480V equipment and working at heights.
- Ability to remain active for the duration of a shift, including lifting and working in various outdoor weather conditions.
- A strong desire to learn new tools and solve technical puzzles.
