About the role#
As a Safety Co-op at the Green Bay Packaging Mill Division, you will gain hands-on experience with occupational safety in a paper mill setting. This role involves working on-site to support our safety programs and compliance efforts.
What you'll do#
- Maintain OSHA compliance for safety programs and procedures.
- Lead employee training sessions required by OSHA.
- Develop and manage proactive safety and security programs.
- Coordinate the implementation of measures to meet new safety laws and regulations.
- Conduct root cause analysis for injuries and near misses.
- Recommend ways to eliminate potential risks.
- Oversee accident investigation programs and track accident trends.
- Create and implement action plans to prevent accidents and improve safety performance.
- Assist with other related duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a BS degree in Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health.
- Completion of, or progress toward, your sophomore year with good academic standing.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Availability to work a full-time summer internship plus an additional semester (flexible part-time hours are available during the school semester).
