About the role#
Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company, LLC is hiring Site Engineer Technician Interns for the summer of 2026. This full-time, paid internship provides hands-on experience in maritime construction and dredging operations. You will work on-site at various project locations across the United States. The program runs from May through August.
What you'll do#
- Prioritize safety in all work environments and daily tasks.
- Perform land and hydrographic surveying to support construction management.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on dredge production.
- Prepare daily dredge and quality control reports.
- Assist operations teams and project staff with general project support.
What you'll need#
- You must be a senior in a degree program.
- Eligible majors include Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Construction Management.
- You must be available to work from May through August.
Location & details#
This is an on-site role. Project sites are located in various states including Illinois, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, and Virginia. Work schedules typically require 8 to 12 hours per day, 7 days per week, depending on project needs.
