About the role#
Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company is hiring interns for the summer of 2026. This role supports our maritime infrastructure projects, including harbor maintenance, land reclamation, and coastal restoration. You will work on-site at various project locations across the United States. This is a full-time, paid internship running from May through August.
What you'll do#
- Prioritize safety in all daily operations and tasks.
- Perform land and hydrographic surveying to support construction management.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on dredge production.
- Complete daily quality control and dredge reporting.
- Assist operations teams with general project needs.
What you'll need#
- You must be a senior pursuing a degree in Civil, Ocean, Environmental, Geotechnical, or Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Availability to work the full internship duration from May to August.
- Ability to work a 7-day per week schedule.
- Ability to work 8 to 12 hours per day.

- This is an on-site position. Projects are located in various sites including Oak Brook Terrace, IL; New York, NY; Upper Township, NJ; Avon, NC; Atlantic Beach, FL; St. Simons Island, GA; Myrtle Beach, SC; Venice, LA; Sulphur, LA; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Port Isabel, TX; Freeport, TX; San Antonio, TX; Austin, TX; Dallas, TX; Little Rock, AR; Staten Island, NY; Houston, TX; Cape Girardeau, MO; Morgan City, LA; and Norfolk, VA.
- The company provides housing, a meal allowance, and transportation to and from project sites. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
