Tax Intern - Winter 2027

About the role#

As a Tax Intern for the Winter 2027 term, you will gain exposure to tax procedures including consulting, return preparation, research, and planning. You will work alongside partners, senior executives, and peers as an active member of the engagement team. This role offers the opportunity to develop new technical skillsets, participate in office community activities, and build professional relationships.

What you'll do#

• Review data input, identify and resolve technical tax issues, and assist in the review of tax preparations completed by the firm's international teams.
• Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other taxing authorities.
• Identify, research, and assess various tax issues while providing information to senior staff members.
• Collaborate with client team members to build rapport and strong client relationships.
• Work on a variety of client engagements across different industries.
• Sharpen your leadership skills while participating in team-building, networking, and professional development discussions with a mentor.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• A minimum major and overall GPA of 3.0/4.0 is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong technical aptitude and a demonstrated ability to manage projects, including planning and time management.
• The ability to work efficiently in a complex team environment.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Willingness and ability to work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites on short notice.

• Location: Columbia, South Carolina.
• Work Modality: Hybrid (requires in-person attendance at least two days per week at a firm office or client site).
• Employment Type: Full-time internship.
