Tax Intern

About the role#

As a Tax Intern during the Summer 2027 term, you will gain exposure to core tax procedures, including consulting, research, planning, and the preparation of supporting work papers. You will work alongside partners, senior executives, and peers as an active member of the engagement team. This role provides opportunities to build professional relationships, participate in office community activities, and sharpen your leadership skills through mentorship and team-building exercises.

What you'll do#

• Review data input, identify and resolve technical tax issues, and assist in the review of tax preparations completed by the firm's international teams.
• Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other taxing authorities.
• Identify, research, and assess tax issues while providing information to senior staff members.
• Collaborate with client team members across various industries to build strong professional relationships.
• Network with peers and participate in professional development discussions with a mentor.
• Manage assigned projects and contribute to team-building and community outreach activities.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• A minimum major and overall GPA of 3.0/4.0 is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong technical aptitude and demonstrated project management abilities, including time management and planning.
• Ability to work effectively in a complex team environment.
• Willingness to travel to client sites and work additional hours as needed.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship.

Location & details#

• Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota.
• Modality: Hybrid. This position requires in-person attendance at least two days per week at a firm office or client site.
• Compensation: $37 per hour.
• Status: Full-time internship.
