About the role#
As a Tax Intern during Summer 2027, you will gain exposure to tax consulting and return preparation. You will work alongside partners, senior executives, and peers as part of an engagement team, contributing to tax planning, research, and the preparation of supporting work papers. This role provides opportunities to develop new skillsets, participate in office community activities, and build professional relationships.
What you'll do#
- Review data input, identify and resolve technical tax issues, and assist in the review of tax preparations.
- Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other taxing authorities.
- Identify, research, and assess various tax issues while providing information to senior staff.
- Collaborate with client team members to build rapport and strong relationships.
- Connect with fellow interns and staff through social events and team-building exercises.
- Work on a variety of client engagements across different industries.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
- A minimum major and overall GPA of 3.0/4.0 is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong technical aptitude and a demonstrated ability in project management, including project planning and time management.
- Ability to work efficiently in a complex team environment.
- Willingness to work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites on short notice.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Location & details#
- Location: Austin, Texas.
- Modality: This is a hybrid position requiring in-person attendance at least two days per week at a firm office or client site.
- Status: Full-time internship.
