Tax Intern

About the role#

As a Tax Intern at Grant Thornton, you will gain exposure to core tax procedures, including consulting and return preparation. You will work alongside partners, senior executives, and peers as a member of the engagement team. This role offers the opportunity to develop new skillsets, participate in office community activities, and build professional relationships.

What you'll do#

• Review data input, identify and resolve technical tax issues, and assist in reviewing tax preparations completed by the firm's international teams.
• Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other taxing authorities.
• Identify, research, and assess tax issues while providing information to senior staff members.
• Collaborate with client team members to build rapport and strong professional relationships.
• Participate in team-building exercises and networking opportunities with peers.

What you'll need#

• Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• A minimum major and overall GPA of 3.0/4.0 is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong technical aptitude and a demonstrated ability in project management, including planning and time management.
• Ability to work efficiently in a complex team environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel to client sites and work additional hours as needed.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.

• Term: Summer 2027.
• Work Modality: Hybrid (requires in-person attendance at least two days per week at a company office or client site).
