Tax Intern

About the role#

As a Tax Intern during the Winter 2027 term, you will gain exposure to core tax procedures, including tax consulting, return preparation, and research. You will work as part of an engagement team alongside partners, senior executives, and peers to support a variety of client projects across different industries.

What you'll do#

• Review data input, identify and resolve technical tax issues, and assist in the review of tax preparations completed by the firm's international teams.
• Research and assess tax issues while providing findings to senior staff.
• Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other taxing authorities.
• Collaborate with client team members to build strong professional relationships.
• Meet regularly with a mentor to receive feedback and discuss professional development.
• Participate in team-building, networking, and community outreach activities.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• A minimum major and overall GPA of 3.0/4.0 is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong technical aptitude and a demonstrated ability to manage projects, including planning and time management.
• Ability to work effectively in a complex, collaborative team environment.
• Willingness to work additional hours as needed and travel to client sites on short notice.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.

• Location: Portland, Oregon.
• Modality: Hybrid (requires in-person attendance at least two days per week at a firm office or client site).
• Employment type: Full-time internship.
