Audit & Assurance Intern - Winter 2027

About the role#

As an Audit & Assurance Intern for the Winter 2027 term, you will gain exposure to audit procedures across various business areas, including cash, receivables, inventory, fixed assets, payrolls, and expense analysis. You will work alongside partners, senior executives, and peers as an active member of the engagement team. This role involves participating in various client engagements, networking with peers, and engaging in mentorship for professional development.

What you'll do#

• Review and audit business transaction cycles, including cash, treasury, capital expenditures, and other income and expenses.
• Research audit issues using electronic databases and track financial information through audit-related software.
• Identify and assess audit-related issues and communicate findings to senior staff.
• Collaborate with client team members to build rapport and maintain strong professional relationships.
• Work closely with staff, managers, and partners across all phases of project engagements.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• A minimum major and overall GPA of 3.0/4.0 is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong technical aptitude and a demonstrated skillset in project management, including planning and time management.
• Ability to work effectively in a complex team environment.
• Willingness to travel to client sites on short notice and work additional hours as necessary.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Location & details#

• Location: Appleton, Wisconsin.
• Work Modality: Hybrid. This position requires in-person attendance at least two days per week at either a Grant Thornton office or a client site.
• Term: Winter 2027.
• Compensation: This is a paid internship position.
