Audit & Assurance Intern - Summer 2027

About the role#

As an Audit & Assurance Intern for Summer 2027, you will gain hands-on experience with audit procedures across various business transaction cycles. You will work directly alongside partners, senior executives, and peers as an integral member of the engagement team, gaining exposure to diverse industries and project phases.

What you'll do#

• Review and audit business transaction cycles, including cash, treasury, capital expenditures, and other income and expenses.
• Research audit issues using electronic databases and track financial information using audit-related software.
• Identify and assess audit-related issues and inform senior staff members of your findings.
• Collaborate with client team members to build rapport and maintain strong professional relationships.
• Meet regularly with your mentor for feedback and professional development discussions.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• A minimum major and overall GPA of 3.0/4.0 is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
• Strong technical aptitude and a demonstrated ability to manage projects, including planning and time management.
• The willingness and ability to work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites on short notice.
• Ability to work effectively in a complex team environment.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.

• Modality: Hybrid. This position requires in-person attendance at least two days per week at either a Grant Thornton office or a client site.
