About the role#
This summer internship focuses on the administration of accident prevention programs and the laws that relate to jobsite safety. You will work at an assigned location to help ensure that our safety goals are met and that company policies remain consistent across our operations.
What you'll do#
- Promote compliance with the company safety program and local accident prevention efforts.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety programs.
- Perform and document jobsite inspections and audits, focusing on hazard recognition and the correction of potential losses.
- Prepare and lead safety meetings and training programs to communicate company standards.
- Participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations.
- Review job hazard analysis for major phases of work.
- Maintain records of third-party, asset loss, and workers compensation claims.
- Coordinate with the corporate insurance department to ensure claims are resolved in a timely manner.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program, specifically in Safety or Occupational Health.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to teach, mentor, and lead others.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work in a high-production environment and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel frequently.
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred.
