About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will assist in the administration of the accident prevention program and ensure work sites follow safety laws and company policies. This is a safety-sensitive position subject to drug and alcohol testing.
What you'll do#
- Promote compliance with the company safety program and local accident prevention efforts.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety programs.
- Perform and document jobsite inspections and audits to identify hazards and unsafe behaviors.
- Help prepare and lead safety meetings and training programs.
- Participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations.
- Assist in the development and review of job hazard analysis for major work phases.
- Support the investigation and record-keeping for third party, asset loss, and worker compensation claims.
- Coordinate with the corporate insurance department to ensure timely resolution of claims.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program, specifically in Safety or Occupational Health.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to teach, mentor, and lead.
- Ability to work in a high production environment and handle pressure or deadlines.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Availability and willingness to travel frequently.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders in a construction or plant environment.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to distinguish colors.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred but not required.
