About the role#
The Corporate Finance and Accounting team is looking for an intern to gain hands-on experience in technical accounting. You will support the team with financial reporting, research, month-end close processes, and internal controls. This role involves evaluating contract accounting implications under GAAP and assisting with audit activities.
What you'll do#
- Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for the month-end close.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
- Research and analyze potential accounting transactions.
- Review internal accounting processes and update documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments during audits.
- Evaluate the accounting implications of contracts in accordance with GAAP.
- Follow all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as at least a sophomore in a Bachelor or Master degree program for Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA and good academic standing.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
- Prior internship or co-op experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks with a sense of urgency.
- An inquisitive mindset and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Interest in using AI tools and emerging technologies to improve workflows.
- Project management skills.
