About the role#
The Internal Audit Intern role provides hands-on experience in evaluating internal controls, understanding business processes, and supporting audit activities. You will work alongside the Internal Audit team and cross-functional partners to learn risk assessment, control frameworks, and audit methodologies. This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist with business-process walkthroughs and document key controls.
- Support the testing of control design and operating effectiveness.
- Gather, sample, and analyze data to support audit conclusions.
- Evaluate compliance with company policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Prepare clear audit workpapers and summarize testing results.
- Maintain organized documentation to support audit findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with team members and partners to clarify process details.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development.
- Perform all tasks in a safe manner while supporting Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as at least a sophomore in an accredited Bachelor degree program for Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- An overall GPA of 3.0 or higher and good academic standing.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.
- Preferred skills include prior internship experience, leadership experience, and project management capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is preferred, as is exposure to Power BI or other data-analysis tools.
- Coursework or interest in auditing, internal controls, SOX, risk management, or process improvement is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site in either Austin, Texas, or Malta, New York.
- This is a full-time internship for Summer 2027.
