About the role#
GlobalFoundries Fab 8 is looking for Process and Equipment Engineering interns to join our 300mm factory. You will work alongside an assigned engineer to support operations and lead improvement projects within the facility.
What you'll do#
- Reduce variability in process recovery procedures.
- Improve problem detection and enhance limits of detection (LOD).
- Lower the costs associated with chemicals and qualification wafers.
- Standardize processes across similar equipment.
- Improve process performance measurement techniques.
- Lead specific improvement projects and present your findings.
- Work with equipment and maintenance teams, including technicians, managers, and other engineers.
- Follow all safety protocols and support Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as at least a sophomore in a Bachelor’s program for Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA and good academic standing.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.
- Preferred: Prior internship or co-op experience.
- Preferred: Experience with SPC controls.
- Preferred: Interest in using AI tools and emerging technologies.
- Preferred: Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills.
- Preferred: Ability to understand complex automated systems and human interactions.
- Preferred: Demonstrated leadership experience.
