About the role#
We are seeking a motivated intern to support Digital Pathology and AI initiatives within our Research and Development department. You will work with a cross-functional team including Pathobiology, Biomarkers, Data Science, and Oncology to help drive projects and align communications across the Center of Excellence. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in an innovative research environment while contributing to meaningful projects.
What you'll do#
- Organize and maintain information regarding digital pathology AI capabilities, use cases, vendors, and ongoing projects.
- Develop processes for knowledge sharing to reduce information silos across teams.
- Support the evaluation of emerging digital pathology and AI technologies.
- Track external collaborations, technology assessments, and pilot projects.
- Compile metrics, milestones, and progress reports aligned with project objectives.
- Contribute to special projects focused on internal Digital Pathology AI initiatives.
- Present your work at the conclusion of your internship.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, JD, or PhD program at an accredited U.S. institution, with continued enrollment in the following Fall semester.
- Pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related AI-focused field.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
- Hands-on experience in Python, machine learning, statistical modeling, or generative AI tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team or independently.
- Ability to translate research questions into data-driven or AI-enabled approaches.
- High level of organization and attention to detail when managing competing priorities.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and diversity.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be independently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- Location: Foster City, California.
- Term: Summer 2027 (10 to 12 consecutive weeks between May and August).
- Modality: Hybrid (on-site work required).
- Employment: Full-time, paid internship.
