About the role#
This internship focuses on applying AI and machine learning to large-scale clinical biomarker datasets. You will gain exposure to how biomarker science informs oncology drug development by contributing to high-impact projects. The program includes professional development, leadership presentations, and networking opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Analyze multi-modal data from translational biomarker projects in oncology.
- Apply machine learning and AI approaches to identify multi-omic signatures associated with treatment response and resistance.
- Build reproducible analysis pipelines, validate model performance across independent patient cohorts, and interpret biological features.
- Contribute to biomarker research in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Participate in biomarker strategy and clinical study discussions.
- Develop data visualizations and communicate scientific findings.
- Present project results to the research community and deliver a final presentation at the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, MBA, JD, or PhD program at an accredited U.S. university, with continued enrollment in the following Fall semester.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
- Working toward a degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related AI-focused field.
- Hands-on experience in Python, R, machine learning, statistical modeling, or generative AI tools.
- Ability to translate research questions into data-driven or AI-enabled approaches.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and diversity.
- Ability to manage competing priorities with attention to detail.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be independently authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Foster City, California.
- Term: Full-time, 10 to 12 consecutive weeks between May and August 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid (on-site work required).
- Compensation: Paid position with an hourly range of $20.00 to $55.00.
- Benefits: Includes paid company holidays, sick time, and housing stipends for eligible employees.
